Abstract
In order to determine the reaction products during the formation of Pt -GaSb contacts, solid state phase equilibria at 500 degrees C in the P t-Ga-Sb system have been determined experimentally. The phases PtSb2, Ga2Pt and Ga7Pt3 are shown to be in thermodynamic equilibrium with GaS b. No ternary phases exist in the Pt-Ga-Sb system at 500 degrees C. Du ring the course of the work, an investigation of the binary Pt-Sb syst em at the same temperature was performed using the diffusion couple te chnique. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science S.A.
