H. Fukuda et al., THE EFFECT CENTRAL SUPERMASSIVE BLACK-HOLE ON GAS FUELING, Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 295(2), 1998, pp. 463-474
When a supermassive black hole exists in the centre of a galaxy, an ad
ditional inner Lindblad resonance (ILR) exists inside the usual ILRs.
We study gas dynamics in a weakly barred potential with a central supe
rmassive black hole by using 2D numerical simulations, and we investig
ate the effect of the additional ILR on the fuelling of gas into nucle
ar starburst regions or active galactic nuclei (AGNs). Our numerical r
esults show that strong trailing spiral shocks are formed at the reson
ance region, and that the gas in the shock region is rapidly fuelled i
nto a central region and makes a nuclear gas ring. As a result, a larg
e amount of gas is concentrated in the nuclear region beyond the ILR i
n a dynamical time-scale.
