H. Hofstetter et al., ENANTIOMER SEPARATION USING BSA AS CHIRAL STATIONARY-PHASE IN AFFINITY OTEC AND OTLC, The Journal of microcolumn separations, 10(3), 1998, pp. 287-291
The protein bovine serum albumin (BSA) was chemically bound to the inn
er surface of fused silica capillaries by a gentle coupling procedure
in order to form a stable chiral stationary phase. Enantiomer separati
on of a number of DNP-amino acids and 3-hydroxy-1,4-benzodiazepines wa
s possible in affinity open tubular electrokinetic chromatography (aff
inity OTEC) and open tubular liquid chromatography (OTLC) in one instr
umental setup. This approach combines the advantages of high efficienc
y and small consumption of solvent and chiral selector with the possib
ility of UV detection without limitations of protein absorption. (C) 1
