NEW TRITERPENOIDAL ALKALOIDS FROM THE LEAVES OF BUXUS-PAPILLOSA

Phytochemical investigations on the ethanolic extract of the leaves of Boxers papillosa of Pakistani origin have resulted in the isolation o f two new triterpenoidal alkaloids, (-)-2 alpha,16 alpha-diacetoxy-9 b eta,11 beta-epoxybuxamidine (1) and (+)-papillozine-C (2) along with o ne known triterpenoidal base, (-)-sempervirone (3) isolated for the fi rst time from this species. The structures of these natural products w ere established through detailed spectroscopic studies.
