Zw. Huang et al., THE COLLISIONAL ENERGY-TRANSFER BETWEEN THE D-1-PI AND D(3)PI STATES OF THE NAK DIMER INDUCED BY ARGON BUFFER GAS, Applied physics. B, Lasers and optics, 66(4), 1998, pp. 471-474
By using the 514.5 nm line of a cw argon-ion laser, the discrete spect
rum of D-1 Pi --> X-1 Sigma(+) transitions and the continuum spectrum
of d(3) Pi --> a(3) Sigma(+) transitions of the NaK dimer in a heat pi
pe could be observed in the range of 500-700 nm. The collision-induced
enhancement effects of the intensities Id-->a and the quenching effec
t of the intensities ID-->X by collisions with argon buffer gas at dif
ferent pressures were measured experimentally. Based on the stationary
collisional model and lifetime measurements, the quenching cross sect
ions and cross sections for collision-induced energy transfer between
the D-1 Pi and d(3) Pi states could be estimated.
