I. Weiss et Sl. Semiatin, THERMOMECHANICAL PROCESSING OF BETA-TITANIUM ALLOYS - AN OVERVIEW, Materials science & engineering. A, Structural materials: properties, microstructure and processing, 243(1-2), 1998, pp. 46-65
Thermomechanical processing (TMP) is associated with two major require
ments: (i) to produce usable shapes through primary working (ingot bre
akdown) and secondary mill operations (hot rolling or forging) and (ii
) to optimize mechanical properties through microstructure control dur
ing the different stages of the thermomechanical process. This paper r
eviews the thermomechanical processing of beta titanium alloys in gene
ral and high temperature deformation mechanisms, microstructure contro
l during TMP, and final mechanical properties in particular. (C) 1998
