Abstract
Based on the comparison of the calculation results with the experiment al data on natural convection on a heated vertical plate in a closed r ectangular cavity with isothermal vertical walls, a study is made into the possibility of using several models of turbulence (v(t)-92 model [1], Spalart-Allmaras model [2] and Menter model [3]), proposed recent ly, for calculation of natural convection and heat transfer. As a resu lt, it is demonstrated that, for flows of this class, these models are at least as good as mon complex models such as Reynolds stress transp ort models.
