Abstract
[V14O36F4](8-) polyanions are built up from two trimers of three edge- sharing VO5F octahedra, two dimers of two square pyramids related by t heir basal plane, two VO4 tetrahedra and two VO4F trigonal bipyramids; between them are intercalated water molecules and diprotonated amines which stabilize the structures by hydrogen bonds.
