Abstract
A deoxyfluorocellulose derivative, with regioselective substitution mo stly at the C-6 carbon atoms, has been studied by an X-ray diffraction method. The results showed that the crystallinity of the fluorinated cellulose is low but can be enhanced by a specific conversion treatmen t. The hydrothermally treated sample displayed a spectrum similar to t hat of cellulose IV. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All r ights reserved.
