Abstract
In agreement with their assumption that the mind involves multiple str uctures, Feldman and Fowler argue that cognitive change is also driven by multiple mechanisms. It is argued that although this general assum ption is consistent with other theory and research, Feldman and Fowler 's mechanisms are rather general and not psychological enough. A serie s of questions are raised with the aim to steer inquiry in the directi on of making the model more psychological and differentiated. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
