Abstract
Reactivity of C-60 molecules toward the oxidative sulfation reaction i nduced by H2SO4-SO3 is highly enhanced by P2O5, leading to hexacyclosu lfated fullerene intermediates which are converted to dodecahydroxyful lerenes upon hydrolysis.
