Abstract
Near surface materials properties are investigated for Mg-alloy AZ 31 after different shot peening or deep rolling treatments resp. Surface topography as well as depth distributions of hardness, residual stress es and X-ray interference line half-width values are analysed for indi vidual process parameters. In addition, stability of residual stress d istributions during fatigue loading is investigated.
