Internet sites on the World Wide Web containing information on Plains

g used to its full potential by archaeologists. Most sites contain bas
ic administrative information for various organizations or are geared
to public education. Various reasons why archaeologists hesitate to us
e the web for dissemination of research are discussed. The authors com
ment on the Internet's potential as a research medium for archaeology
in the near future.
