Abstract
The fibre configuration was simulated with a double-helix model. Fibre -coiling was defined with a primary helix and fibre-crimping with a se condary helix, The influence of technological preparation of fibres on the fibre configuration was investigated and the straightenedness of Leacryl acrylic fibres of 5.6 dtex and 110 mm established. The forces required for the primary-helix decoiling and the secondary-helix decri mping were measured as well as the force required for the unrecoverabl e decrimping of fibres, The stress at the yield point, the secondary-h elix decrimping stress, the primary-helix decoiling stress, and the ir reversible fibre-decrimping stress were calculated.
