An experimental proof is presented for the idea that the rate constant
s for the reactions of ethylene with solid PdCl2/SiO2 catalysts can be
measured by the kinetic distribution method in the absence of a solve
nt. The kinetics of ethylene oxidation to acetaldehyde over PdCl2/SiO2
was studied at 300 K. The rate constant of the ethylene reaction with
Pd(II) binuclear complexes was found to be higher than that of the et
hylene reaction with mononuclear complexes.
