Abstract
The state of the study of inorganic lyotropic liquid crystals represen ting aqueous and water-organic dispersions of some inorganic substance s is reviewed. The history of the discovery of these mesophases and th eir classification are described; the structure and properties of all presently known liquid crystals of this class are considered in detail .
