Application of wavelet transform in recovering useful information from
different kinds of oscillographic chronopotentiometric signal was stu
died in this paper, Effects of the transform frequency, white noise an
d kinds of wavelet function and the oscillographic signal on the trans
form results are discussed. In above-mentioned factor, the noise and t
he transform frequency are two main factors Of the influence, Experime
ntal result for the former indicated that for the noise and favorable
peak shape a signal-to-noise ratio of 3 can be tolerated at the 5% err
or level, which means that a significant reduction in the detection li
mit can be obtained in comparison with the classical signal-processing
methods. And the findings of the latter showed that peak height cause
d by depolarizer depends on decomposition frequency for the signal, an
d the optimum choice of this frequency, in turn, depends on kinds of t
he signal. For dE/dt-t signal, three frequency of the transform can ob
tain the best peak shape and the largest peak height. Thus, compared w
ith Fourier transform, it is easy to recover useful information from t
he oscillographic signal with noise and background signal caused by ba
se solution.
