THE SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF EPO XY-TERMINATED PHENOLPHTHALEIN POLY(CYANOARYLETHER)

Epoxy-terminated poly (cyanoarylether) (E-PCE) with M-n from 1000 to 1 2000 were synthesized by the reaction of epichlorohydrin with PCE olig omer with -OK terminal groups perpared by condensation of phenolphthal ein (PPH) with 2,6-dichlororbenzonitrile (DCBN) using K2CO3 as catalys t. The E-PCEs were characterized by IR and H-1 NMR spectra, the solubi lity of E-PCE samples was also measured. In addition, the solidificati on action and the heat resisting qualit of the fully crosslinked E-PCE /DDS were also measured by DSC and TGA.
