Abstract
This paper analyzes the quantum measurement properties of the photon n umber of two signal modes in the balanced homodyning detector of a non linear Mach-Zehnder interferometer. In this scheme, the sum of the pho ton number is measured via Kerr-type photon number quantum nondemoliti on measurements, where both the cross and the self-phase modulation ef fects of the Kerr media are considered.
