In the present work, 33 spectral lines of Ne were identified in the ra
nge of 530.0-730.0 nm for pure Ne, He-Ne, and He-Ne-Ar by alpha-partic
le excitation. We demonstrated that for a He-Ne system excited by an a
lpha-particle emitted from Pu-238, the predominant processes are the f
ormation and the dissociative recombination of the molecular ion Ne-2(
+). The radiation rate R-i, relative population N-i, and the filling f
raction w(i) for 10 levels of the configuration 2p(5)3p for NeI were i
nvestigated in detail.
