R. Lempp, WHAT HAPPENED IS BEYOND DESCRIPTION - A F AILED COPING-ATTEMPT OF A JEW PERSECUTED IN CHILDHOOD AND HIS LATE THERAPY, Forum der Psychoanalyse, 14(1), 1998, pp. 52-65
The following case study is about a 65 years old Jewish patient living
in Germany. He lost all his relatives in the Holocaust, when he was 1
3. and was subject to most severe strains and maltreatment in the labo
ur camp. An almost complete loss of memories about childhood and the t
ime of persecution and his severe obsessive-compulsive neurosis could
be improved considerably. The nature of the repression and the terms o
f the therapy are critically discussed.
