Abstract
We extend the modified Gompertz hazard function, first used by Canter and Shuster for estimation of cure rates from pediatric clinical trial s, by including covariate effects. The extended model provides a conve nient method for estimation of the cure rate as a function of treatmen ts and covariates. (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
