DISTANCE LEARNING - A NEW BUZZWORD IN INF ORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION

Students of the Fachhochschule Darmstadt, departement of ''information and documentation'', developed a new project on the information secto r, which is called ''Distance Learning for IuD''. People should have t he possibility to learn and study via the internet without any limitat ion of time and local boundries. The basis at the beginning of this pr oject was a questionnaire which was ment to reflect the wishes and exs pectations of the possible users. Nearly 400 people, experts and non-e xperts, were asked about their demands for such an offer. They were as ked for example, if they have the required technical requirements, whi ch kind of contents they desire, how much time they like to spend on t heir studies and much more. The results were very interesting for the further development of the project.
