Overall constants for the singlet oxygen quenching rate by beta-glycir
rhizic acid derivatives (ether, amide, isocyanate, isothiocyanate, ure
thane, glycopeptide) are determined. Introduction of substituents in t
he beta-glycirrhizic acid molecule decreases the rate constant by 1-3
orders of magnitude.
