Abstract
The psychometric integrity of Cloninger's Temperament and Character In ventory was examined in a sample of 141 male and 162 female students d uring a medical faculty entrance examination. Results supported Clonin ger's theoretical concept of three essentially independent temperament dimensions and three character dimensions, but no evidence was found that Persistence scale represents the fourth independent temperament d imension.
