Abstract
The photocatalytic formation of formic acid and formaldehyde from carb on dioxide in aqueous media has been carried out in the presence of ne utral red coated titanium dioxide powder. These photocatalytic product s were measured spectrophotometrically using Nash reagent. The effect of the variation of different parameters like neutral red concentratio n, the amount of the photocatalyst (Neutral red coated titanium dioxid e powder), light intensity, particle size etc., on the yield of photop roducts was also investigated. A tentative mechanism for this reductio n has been proposed.
