Abstract
In this note we study the steady state downtime distribution of a mono tone system comprising independent components. An exact formula exists for parallel system, but approximations have to be used for other typ e of systems. Results from Monte Carlo simulations are presented to il lustrate the error term by estimating the distribution of the ith down time of the system by the steady state down time distribution.
