Abstract
In this paper, we present the results concerning the tunability optimi zation of an Er+3-doped fiber-ring laser. The influence of the doped-f iber length, host matrix, and reflectivity of the device on the tunabi lity and performance of the laser is discussed. We obtained the parame ters which will better improve the laser performance. (C) 1998 John Wi ley & Sons, Inc.
