Abstract
Studies on seedling morphology and the isozyme profile of 12 species o f lpomoea, undertaken with a view to tracing the linkage and homology between the species, revealed the concordance of morphological finding s with biochemical analysis. The trend of clustering in the dendrogram based on isozyme profiles revealed two broad clusters or groups. Inte rrelationships and homology between the species revealed by the phylet ic tree constructed from seedling morphology and from the dendrogram o n isozyme data were comparable, with only minor variations.
