Abstract
MAXIMIZATION of cell capacity and minimization of dropped calls are cr itical for providers of cellular and personal communications services (PCS). These performance improvements may be realized by incorporating high-temperature-superconductor (HTS) RF components in cryoelectronic tower-top amplifiers (TTAs). Among the advantages obtained with these products are improved base-station sensitivity and spectral sensitivi ty as well as lower noise-which translates into increased coverage.
