Abstract
High spin states in Ta-170 have been studied via Tb-159(O-16,5n gamma) Ta-170 reaction through excitation functions, K X-gamma and gamma-gamm a-t coincidence measurements. Three rotational bands have been identif ied among which one coupled band and an unfavoured Delta I=2 E2 transi tion sequence are newly found in this work. The possible quasiparticle configurations of these bands are discussed.
