The high spin states of Gd-143 have been studied via the Cd-111(Cl-35,
1p2n) reaction at 170 MeV. One dipole cascade has been newly found an
d two dipole cascades have been extended to higher spin states. A rela
tively long E2 cascade consisting of irregular transition energies has
been found, which has only weak connections to the other dipole and q
uadrupole cascades. This resembles the ones recently found in (EU)-E-1
42,143,144 and Gd-144. The dipole and quadrupole cascades have been fo
und to appear by turns in an energy increment of about 0.2MeV above th
e yrast line.
