Abstract
Reaction of CpFe(CO)I(eta(1)-dppm) with M(CO)(4)(L)(2) (L = acetonitri le or norbornadiene) affords the heterobimetallic complexes CpFe(CO)(m u-I)(mu-dppm)M(CO)(4) (1, 2 and 3 for M = Cr, Mo and W, respectively). These new complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses and IR, mass, H-1 and P-31 NMR spectroscopies. The crystal structures of 1 and 3 reveal that the two heterometal atoms are not bonded but are b ridged by a dppm and an iodide ligands. Compound 1 crystallizes in a s pace group P2(1)/c with a = 10.664(3) Angstrom, b = 15.495(4) Angstrom , c = 20.494(3) Angstrom, beta = 92.37(2)degrees, V = 3383(1) Angstrom (3), Z = 4 and R/R-F = 0.058/0.050. Compound 3 crystallizes in a space group P2(1)/c with a = 10.668(2) Angstrom, b = 15.567(2) Angstrom, c = 20.512(2) Angstrom, beta = 92.65(1)degrees, V = 3402.7(8)Angstrom(3) , Z = 4 and R/R-F = 0.048/0.066.
