Kh. Xu et al., A SIMPLE METHOD OF DECREASING THE SHOCK TEMPERATURE OF SOLID SPECIMENS AND APPLICATION OF THIS METHOD TO THE PHASE-TRANSFORMATION OF ANATASE, Combustion, explosion, and shock waves, 33(4), 1997, pp. 487-490
A simple method for decreasing the temperature of specimens in shock-w
ave treatment of solid porous substances has been developed. The essen
ce of the method consists in filling the specimen with liquid paraffin
. The experimental results show that the treatment of anatase filled w
ith liquid paraffin leads to the formation of the high-pressure beta-T
iO2 phase, and, without paraffin, rutile is formed.
