A design method for composite finplate and angle cleated connections i
s described. The method covers both symmetric and non-symmetric connec
tions and allows for the presence of axial compression in the column.
It is similar to that developed by the authors for flush endplate conn
ections. Verification against all available test results demonstrates
the method's ability to accurately predict the moment capacity of finp
late and angle cleated connections. A worked example for the angle cle
ated connection is used to illustrate the method's application. (C) 19
