R. Rabii et al., SEMINAL-VESICLE CYST ASSOCIATED WITH IPSI LATERAL RENAL AGENESIS AND MEGAURETERA - A CASE-REPORT, Annales d'Urologie, 31(2), 1997, pp. 97-100
We report a case of a 24-year-old male patient with cystic dilatation
of the seminal vesicle associated with renal agenesis and megaureter.
This patient complained of left renal colic with pollakiuria. We perfo
rmed intravenous urography and ultrasound showed a cyst in the seminal
vesicle associated with left megaureter and right renal agenesis. Tre
atment consisted of resection of the cyst and reimplantation of the le
ft ureter into the bladder. No postoperative complications were observ
ed. This association is rare and can be explained by the common embryo
logical origin of the seminal vesicle and kidney and ureter. Its diagn
osis is now facilitated by ultrasound and CT. The treatment of this tu
mor is surgical only when the lesions are responsible for clinical sym
ptoms.
