Ams. Abdennabi et al., APPLICATION OF DIFFERENTIAL ELECTROLYTIC POTENTIOMETRY FOR DETECTION IN FLOW-INJECTION ANALYSIS, Analytica chimica acta, 360(1-3), 1998, pp. 195-201
The applicability of differential electrolytic potentiometry as a dete
ction system in flow injection analysis is investigated. A computer-co
ntrolled injector which delivers precise volumes of sample solutions i
n a reproducible manner was developed. Conditions such as current dens
ity employed, the concentrations of the solutions used and the flow ra
te were optimized. Chloride in water was determined by means of this s
ystem. The relation between chloride concentration and the measured si
gnal was found to be Nernstian for solutions of concentrations above 6
mu g ml(-1) chloride. For solutions below this concentration, the rel
ation is linear. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
