Abstract
A new method for improving the approximations of stress intensity fact ors computed from path-independent integrals is developed. The method uses Richardson's extrapolation. Numerical results are given to show t he efficiency and the stability of the present method. (C) 1998 John W iley & Sons, Ltd.
