Abstract
The behaviour of the WPI and CPI in the recent past raises several que stions. One is regarding the effectiveness of using a WPI-based inflat ion rate to capture the impact of price rise for the average consumer. The second relates to the adequacy of using the point-to-point measur e for reckoning inflation rate.
