Abstract
The novel pentanuclear species (1) is prepared from copper(I) iodide a nd tetraethylthiuram monosulfide. It features a central Cu3I3 cage wit h two fused CuLI units. This structure is one of the scarce examples o f copper(I) pentanuclear compounds so far reported.
