Abstract
The zwitterionic dispirocyclic (molecular) lambda(5)Ge,lambda(5)Ge'-di germanate 5a is the first example of a dinuclear germanium compound co ntaining two pentacoordinate Ge atoms (GeO4C framework). The coordinat ion polyhedra around the germanium atoms are slightly distorted trigon al bipyramids. The synthesis and crystal structure analysis of 5a are reported.
