F. Berta et al., THE COMPOSITION OF TERPENES IN NEEDLES OF PINUS-SYLVESTRIS IN A RELATIVELY CLEAR AND IN A CITY ENVIRONMENT, BIOLOGIA, 52(1), 1997, pp. 71-78
The influence of changed conditions of the urbanized environment of th
e town of Nitra on quantitative accumulation and composition of terpen
oid substances from the Pinus sylvestris L. needles has been studied i
n comparison with a relatively clear environment on the site of Arbore
tum Mlynany SAS. There were analyzed 10 terpenoid substances from need
les in the city environment whose content in needles was more than 1%,
in the Arboretum Mlynany only 8 kinds of terpenes. On the site of Nit
ra accumulation of alpha-Pinene was markedly lower and production of C
itral, Myrcene, Camphene was lower too. On the other hand accumulation
of other terpenes was increased and namely: beta-Pinene p-Cymene, alp
ha-Bisabolol, Eugenol, Carvone, Terpineol in comparison with the relat
ively clear environment. Proportions of alpha-Pinene to beta-Pinene, C
itral, Bornyl aceteate, Terpineol and Camphene have been changed.
