Abstract
The localization of naphthodianthrones, acylphloroglucinols and flavon oids in main flower parts of Hypericum perforatum was studied. Distrib ution patterns of flavonol quercetin monosides quercitrin, hyperoside and isoquercitrin are similar to each other. The highest content of qu ercetin glycosides is found in sepals and petals. Diglycoside rutin is more accumulated in sepals and less in stamens. Biflavonoid 3,8''-bia pigenin is present in all the flower parts studied but the highest con tent was found in stamens and petals. In organs where plant gametes ar e formed (stamens and pistils) naphthodianthrones and acylphloroglucin ols are not present at the same time. Naphthodianthrones hypericin and pseudohypericin are accumulated in stamen and petal. Acylphloroglucin ols hyperforin and adhyperforin are present in high percentage (7.1%) in pistil and they are absent from stamens. Different accumulation of naphthodianthrones and acylphloroglucinols in particular floral parts can be connected with specific defensive role of individual compound a nd other phenomena of plant reproduction.
