D. Wetterauer et R. Killorn, APPLICATOR FOR SPREADING LIQUID MANURES ON SMALL RESEARCH PLOTS, Soil Science Society of America journal, 62(2), 1998, pp. 486-488
Farm-size liquid-manure pressure or vacuum tanks are not well suited f
ar applying manure to research plots. If is difficult to manuever the
spreaders and accurately control the flow of manure. This report descr
ibes an inexpensive liquid-manure spreader developed for use on resear
ch plots (i.e., 4.6 by 12.2 m). The spreader has been used to apply ma
nure as broadcast or injected treatments af rates of 18 000 to 80 000
L ha(-1). This spreader can also be used to hand-apply manure to very
smalt (1.5 by 1.5 m) plots.
