Abstract
This paper proposes a new representation of the coefficients of a powe r series for approximating the equation of an aspheric surface with an involute profile. A numerical example shows that the new representati on ensures higher accuracy of the approximation than does the power se ries proposed in Opt. Zh. 58, No. 10, 45 (1991) [Sov. J. Opt.
