Abstract
The catalytic activity of (P)NiMo/Ti-HMS and (P)NiW/Ti-HMS catalysts i n the reaction of hydrogenation of naphthalene is studied. The hydroge nation activity of the tungsten based catalysts is superior to that of the conventional alumina supported catalysts. The molybdenum based ca talysts manifest mild hydrogenation activity. The high catalytic activ ity is attributed to the high surface area and pore volume of the supp ort. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
