Second-harmonic generation from the surface of an isotropic gyrotropic
medium is theoretically investigated for the reflection geometry. We
derive formulas describing amplitude and polarization characteristics
of the reflected-wave field at the frequency of the second harmonic. I
t is demonstrated that intensity vanishing at the center of the signal
beam polarization and intensity of the light vary in a complex manner
in the cross section of the beam, with the signal beam.
