We present calculations of the differential, integrated elastic, and t
otal cross sections for positrons scattered from alkali-metal atoms. T
he energy of the positrons ranges from 10 eV to 1000 eV. In the calcul
ations we use parameter-free model potentials for the correlation-pola
rization and absorption interactions. The absorption potential used fo
r positron scattering is based on a quasifree model that we recently p
roposed and tested for the noble-gas targets. For positron-alkali-meta
l scattering the model potentials have produced reliable scattering cr
oss sections over the extended range of impact energies when compared
against the available experimental data.
