The nu(1), and nu(3) bands of SD3+ were observed at 5.45 mu m with a d
iode laser spectrometer. The ions were generated in a concentration-mo
dulated, low-temperature, hollow-cathode discharge of deuterium and ca
rbonyl sulfide gases. One hundred and ninety-two lines were measured a
nd assigned to SD3+. The majority of these lines were assigned to the
nu(3) perpendicular band with 49 lines assigned to the nu(1), parallel
band. A simultaneous fit of these bands provided the first experiment
al parameters for the SD3+ ion. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
