Abstract
Neisseria meningitidis is one of the human pathogens that invade the m eninges with a high frequency. This requires the crossing of the blood -brain barrier, which is one of the tightest barriers in the body. Thi s article reviews the mechanisms by which this pathogen can traverse t he barrier.
